Chronic Back Pain Management in Newcastle

Persistent back pain can continue even when scans are reassuring or treatment has focused on the painful area. Your Diagnostic First Session looks at the wider pattern, tests relevant findings and begins treatment where appropriate.

Peeling the onion to find underlying drivers

I describe this process as peeling the onion. Layer by layer, functional-neurology and P-DTR testing explores what may be holding your system back. A back or neck symptom may be influenced by a receptor or movement finding elsewhere, so each possible driver is tested and retested rather than assumed.

A different option after physiotherapy or chiropractic care

Physiotherapy and chiropractic care can be helpful and appropriate. Functional neurology adds a brain-based assessment of how sensory information, movement and protection are being organised. The aim is to identify and address relevant underlying drivers, while recognising that findings and outcomes differ between people.

Your £100, 60-minute Diagnostic First Session

Your first appointment includes a detailed history, individual neurological and movement assessment, testing and retesting, and treatment where appropriate. You receive a written report within 24 hours and an included 30–40 minute Zoom findings call.

When to seek medical help

Urgent or worsening weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle numbness, fever, unexplained weight loss or symptoms following major trauma require prompt medical assessment. This service does not replace emergency or medical care.
